Dear Valued Guests,
Our thoughts are with all who have been impacted by the earthquake that took place in Thailand and Myanmar on March 28, 2025. lebua Hotels & Resorts is thankful to confirm that all guests and staff are safe and well and that there were no injuries. Following the earthquake, the Deputy Chairman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, along with other officials and a team of engineers, conducted a thorough structural inspection of the State Tower building. The engineers confirmed that the earthquake had no impact on the structural integrity of the building or the interior of the hotel and guest service features.
Our hotel along with all dining options and guest services remain open and ready for travelers to enjoy as part of the vertical destination’s unique offerings and experiences in the heart of Bangkok.
As the safety of all guests and staff remains top of mind for lebua Hotels & Resorts, we have taken additional steps to ensure that the hotel, dining, and all onsite experiences continue to offer a secure and enjoyable setting. In this effort, we have invited Ray Cook, Managing Director of R & B Property Group in New Zealand—an industry veteran with over 50 years of experience in commercial construction and property development—to lead an expert review of the lebua Hotel in Bangkok.
As part of this initiative, Ray Cook has assembled a team of internationally recognized specialists, including Hamish McKenzie, Senior Engineer at Holmes Consulting, who has vast experience in earthquake design for multi-story buildings. Joining him is Kiran Makan, both of whom have led major earthquake restoration efforts using advanced Carbon Fibre Systems in New Zealand. We are honored to have them working exclusively on the lebua project to ensure the highest level of safety, structural integrity, and peace of mind for our guests and staff.
I understand that uncertainty can create anxiety. That’s why we have launched a transparent communication initiative. Starting today, our website will be updated daily with real-time safety updates and factual information. You’ll also find engineering reports, historical construction details, and visual documentation showing how lebua was originally built to withstand both wind loads and seismic activity.
As someone who has been part of this journey since the very beginning, I can confidently say that lebua is not only luxurious and iconic—it is also built to last. The safety measures and structural reinforcements embedded into its foundation reflect world-class standards.
If you have any questions or wish to speak with us directly, we welcome you to contact our team anytime. We are here for you—not just as hosts, but as family.
Warm regards,
Narawadee Bualert

State Tower Bangkok Undergoes Advanced Structural Inspection with Inspekt AI After Earthquake
Following the recent earthquake, State Tower Bangkok has taken a proactive step to ensure the structural integrity and safety of its building by partnering with Inspekt AI, a global leader in drone-based building inspections.
State Tower is proud to be the first and only building in Thailand to undergo an internal inspection by Inspekt AI. The company deployed cutting-edge autonomous drones equipped with thermal imaging and 3D scanning technology to fly inside the building and scan its structure with high precision.
Using advanced thermographic imaging, Inspekt AI is able to detect defects in the building façade and energy leaks at an early stage—long before they become visible or costly to repair. This method not only enhances the structural safety of the building but also improves its overall energy efficiency, helping prevent future issues and reduce environmental impact.
While the inspection is still underway and final results are pending, State Tower is committed to transparency and will provide updates through its official website once the full report becomes available.
“Safety has always been our top priority,” said Narawadee Bualert, President & CEO. “We are proud to lead the way in Thailand by using this advanced technology to provide peace of mind and demonstrate the strength of our building.”

At lebua, your safety and peace of mind remain our top priority.
In light of recent events and public concern, we would like to reaffirm that State Tower—originally known during its construction as Rangsan Silom Precious Tower—was built with foresight, world-class engineering, and enduring resilience. From its groundbreaking in 1991 to its completion in 1997, every phase of construction was executed to ensure long-term safety and structural integrity.
Foundation & Substructure (1991–1994)
– Construction commenced in late 1991 with the mat foundation and six-level substructure completed over a span of two years
– Supported by 500 bored piles, each reaching 60 meters deep
– Features a 4-meter-thick mat foundation, reinforced with over 30,000 m³ of concrete
– Enclosed by a 1.02-meter-thick diaphragm wall extending 36 meters underground
– Utilized the Top-Down Construction Method, allowing simultaneous construction of underground and above-ground levels — saving an estimated 8–10 months
Wind Load Testing (1995)
– In 1995, State Tower underwent rigorous wind tunnel testing by Cermak Peterka Petersen, Inc., a globally recognized wind engineering firm
– Identified areas including balconies, the dome, and entry zones were redesigned to enhance wind resistance
– Wall thicknesses and structural details were refined using real-world wind pressure data to ensure both safety and cost efficiency
We stand firmly behind the structural integrity and engineering that went into the creation of State Tower. It was conceived not only to be iconic—but to endure.
The information presented above is based on the original construction and engineering report published in 1995.
