lebua occupies the top floors of State Tower on Charoen Krung Road, near the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok’s Silom district. The property is best known internationally as the filming location of The Hangover Part II, but its reputation among luxury travellers goes well beyond that. The rooftop bars and restaurants draw visitors from across the world, and both hotels on site hold five-star status.

If you’re booking for the first time, the most useful thing to understand upfront is that lebua is two separate hotels sharing one address and one rooftop. Knowing which property suits you before you arrive saves a lot of confusion at check-in.

Getting to lebua from Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airports

lebua is on Charoen Krung Road in the Silom area, roughly midway between Bangkok’s two main airports.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): The Airport Rail Link runs from Suvarnabhumi to Phaya Thai station, from where you can take a taxi or the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin station. Saphan Taksin is the closest BTS stop to State Tower. From there it is a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride to the building entrance on Charoen Krung Road. A private transfer is the most direct option if you have a lot of luggage or prefer not to navigate public transport. The Tower Club Signature Collection package includes a one-way airport transfer as part of its arrival privileges.

From Don Mueang Airport (DMK): Don Mueang does not connect directly to the Airport Rail Link. The most straightforward option is a metered taxi from the airport, which will take between 45 minutes and an hour depending on traffic. Alternatively, you can take the A1 bus to Mo Chit BTS station, then the Skytrain to Saphan Taksin, then a short taxi to the hotel. For convenience, a pre-arranged transfer is worth considering, particularly if you arrive during peak Bangkok traffic hours.

If you book through the hotel directly, ask about private transfer options when making your reservation. The number to call is +66 (0)2 624 9999.

A Few Practical Notes Before You Go

The dress code at the Dome at lebua is smart casual. Shorts, flip-flops, and sportswear are not permitted at the rooftop restaurants or bars. If you arrive without appropriate footwear, the hotel can usually help, but it is easier to dress for the evening from the start.

The rooftop is open-air, and Bangkok evenings can be warm and humid. Light, breathable fabrics work well. In the cooler months (November to January), a light layer for the indoor venues is worth having.

lebua is a non-gaming, non-entertainment complex in the traditional Bangkok sense. The focus is on dining, views, and accommodation. If you are looking for a central base with some of Bangkok’s best restaurants on-site and straightforward access to the BTS network and the Chao Phraya River, the location suits that purpose well.
