Chef Matthew Kammerer is the Executive Chef of The Harbor House Inn in Elk, California, an acclaimed destination on the Mendocino Coast recognized with Two MICHELIN Stars and a MICHELIN Green Star. His cuisine is deeply shaped by the surrounding landscape, drawing inspiration from the restaurant’s own farm, the nearby coastline, inland forests, local producers, and the rhythm of the seasons.
Known for his hyper-local, sustainable, and ingredient-driven approach, Chef Matthew Kammerer has earned significant recognition in the American culinary landscape. His accolades include Food & Wine Best New Chef and multiple James Beard Award recognitions, including semifinalist honors for Best Chef: California. The Harbor House Inn has also been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, including as a finalist for Outstanding Hospitality.
The Harbor House Inn rests on the edge of the rustic Mendocino coastline. Guests retreat to the Harbor House Inn to enjoy an intimate, rejuvenating stay surrounded by pristine nature. The 10-guest room property features a private cove with panoramic views, walkable gardens, and a 20-seat Michelin-starred restaurant that serves a coastal-cuisine focused tasting menu Thursday-Monday evenings. The Inn is located just 30-minutes south of the historical village of Mendocino.
